Tourism portal · Headless CMS
The Maspalomas tourism portal, in three languages
A portal the tourism department composes block by block from the CMS, in Spanish, English and German, published as a static site.
The challenge
The department publishes guides, an events calendar and routes in three languages, and changes the content daily. None of those changes could go through a developer, and the home page had to absorb peak-season traffic without falling over.
The solution
We pulled the content out of the website: it lives in a headless CMS with a section builder, and the team composes each page by picking blocks — video, gallery, highlights, calendar — without touching code. The site is generated as static files on every publish, so there is no database in front of the visitor.

What we delivered
- 01
A section builder: full-screen video, galleries, highlights, calendar and animated shapes the team combines however it likes.
- 02
Three languages — Spanish, English and German — managed from the CMS itself, each with its equivalent page.
- 03
Events calendar and travel guides as first-class content types, with their own entries, images and publishing cycle.
- 04
A static build served by nginx: the portal absorbs a seasonal spike with no database and no application server in front of it.
- 05
Image derivatives generated on upload, so the home page never sends a 2000 px JPEG to a phone.
- 06
Security headers at the server: HSTS, X-Content-Type-Options, X-Frame-Options and a referrer policy.
